"A Day in the Life" of a Rotarian

Pick-A-Project
Downtown Cynthiana Community Service

On Saturday, October 10, 2009 members of the Cynthiana Club worked to improve the downtown appearance in Cynthiana by participating in the Pick-A-Project Program sponsored by the downtown merchants and Chamber of Commerce.  Rotarian Karen Bear motivated the club to use the project as part of the "A Day in the Life" photo contest sponsored by "The Rotarian" magazine.  The project involved removing nails, brads, tacks, etc from the utility poles around the business district.  Over the years the poles have become literally nailed together with items left from posting notices, advertisements, and other messages.  Several buckets of various fasteners were removed.

Bob Owen - no job is insignificant for a Rotarian. Cleaning the poles around downtown of years of sign nails and staples.
